The London Missionary Society Commemorative Medal 1795-1895

This is the 1895 London Missionary Society Medal.....a copper-plated tin medal commemorating 100 years of the London Missionary Society. The front shows a port quarter view of a full-rigged merchant ship 'The Duff' under sail. The back shows four scenes of the Society's missionary activity in New Guinea, the West Indies, China, the South Seas, Africa, India, Madagascar and Mongolia. Condition is good overall....edges somewhat rough but excellent definition on the medal. A very collectible medallion with examples being held in museum collections. Asking price for Very Fine examples is in range of $400-$500.
