1892 Front Cover Of THE MILLION Newspaper The Racehorse 'ORME'
THE MILLION Newspaper was a Victorian Era newspaper Edited By GEO. NEWNES and published weekly. The paper is on good quality newsprint and the print quality is excellent....many of the illustrations are engravings...probably wood cuts, so the definition is very good and the colouring is also well done. The paper size is 17" x 11 3/4".There is also printing on reverse. A wonderful depiction from the June 4th 1892 Edition of .the racehorse ORME..this is a print rather than an engraving. Orme was owned by The Duke of Westminster and had a truly sensational career. An attempted poisoning prevented him contesting the Two Thousand Guineas and the Derby, but he went on to win the Eclipse twice, the Rouse Memorial Stakes and the Goodwood Stakes In total Orme collected prize money of £32,526 from fourteen winning races.THESE ARE GENUINE ORIGINAL ITEMS.....WE DO NOT SELL COPIES OR REPRINTS.
