The Duke and Duchess of York left Plymouth, England, 6 January 1927, on a voyage to Australia to open Federal Parliament in the new Parliament House, Canberra. The route and ports of call was via the Caribbean Islands, Panama Canal, Pacific Islands, New Zealand, and Australia. In Australia the ship visited Sydney and Melbourne with the departure from Fremantle on 23 May 1927.
