A stunningly lovely Oil on copper depiction of Queen Marie Antoinette in Original Ornate Bronze Filigree Frame with Gilt Finishing.....it is signed Le Brun but this is a later 19th century copy of the original "After Le Brun". The Painting is Oval measuring 3 1/4 inches by 2 1/2 inches with the frame measuring4 3/4" x 3 1/2". Élisabeth Louise Vigée Le Brun (16 April 1755 – 30 March 1842), also known as Madame Lebrun or Madame Le Brun, was a prominent French portrait painter of the late 18th century. Her artistic style is generally considered part of the aftermath of Rococo with elements of an adopted Neoclassical style. Marie Antoinette was the last Queen of France before the French Revolution. She was born an Archduchess of Austria and was the penultimate child and youngest daughter of Empress Maria Theresa and Francis I, Holy Roman Emperor. She was born on the 2 November 1755, The Hofburg, Vienna, Austria and died 16 October 1793, Place de la Concorde, Paris, France executed with her husband King Louis XVI of France.
